Ubuntu! Fest is a free annual 3-day international arts gathering aiming to embody the African philosophy from which it takes its name—Ubuntu—a Zulu word meaning “I am because you/we are.” Featuring decolonial arts practitioners from around the world who are working to rupture colonial matrixes of power within themselves and society, Ubuntu! Fest highlights reflexive theatre and performance practice, as well as other creative, intellectual, and socio-political and cultural interventions that aim to decolonise personhood, practice, and pedagogy.
