The second work in the celebrated Orisha Trilogy, this electrifying biomyth monodrama invites audiences to gather at the sacred river of the erotic and political to witness the rising of Mami Wata, the ancient African water spirit of transformation, desire, and liberation.

Set in present-day Xaymaca/Jamaica, the play follows four friends whose lives are shaped by the enduring legacy of colonial anti-queer laws, religious conservatism, and the politics of secrecy. Through dub poetry, ritual movement, masquerade, multimedia, and immersive soundscapes, long-buried truths surface, forcing each character to confront the tensions between loyalty, identity, survival, and freedom.
