What does it mean to make art from the whole self?

dubbin praxis: the anitafrika method is an invitation into a decoliberatory approach to art-making, self-inquiry and transformation developed by Dr. d'bi.young anitafrika over more than two decades of artistic practice, teaching and femtorship.

At its centre are nine principles: Self-Knowledge, Power, Orality, Language, Rhythm, Urgency, Sacredness, Integrity and Experience. Together, they offer practitioners a way to ask deeper questions of themselves, their stories, their relationships and the work they are trying to make.

dubbin praxis: the anitafrika method is for all practitioners: artists, educators, students, cultural workers and anyone interested in emancipatory approaches to creative practice,
